Has anyone ever bough theatre tickets from the stands on London streets?

I mean the stands that have all the theatre posters on them that sell the theatre tickets. I'm going in a couple of weeks and wanted to decide what show to see when I got there. Has anyone ever bought tickets from these stands, if so do you get good seats at a good price?
