This has really been bugging me; What the hell are the Beatles going for on the cover of "Help!"?

I love the Beatles and I love this album. But the thing is, I feel like it's almost a tease that only one of them [I believe it's Paul making an "L"] attempted to spell out "HELP" with their arms. George, John, and Ringo seem to just have their arms all over the place. Is there any meaning for the awkward ways they're standing, or are they just being silly teenagers?
