Name of a Cave Man Movie?

It was in the 80s or 70s. Has one character (the caveman) and he is traveling and ends up eating something that makes him fart and he eventually winds up at the shore of an ocean? It was a "drama" was not the comedy with Ringo Starr etc... Its killing me and I can't find the answer!
